Miss Deno's Classroom

Having a Ball in Room 28!

I would like to welcome you to Edgelea Elementary for what will surely be a great school year! My name is Kalyn Deno, and I am very excited to be your child’s kindergarten teacher.

This is my fifth year teaching kindergarten at Edgelea Elementary. I attended Purdue University, where I received a degree in Elementary Education. I am originally from Rensselaer, but I have been living in the Lafayette area for the past nine years. Away from school, I enjoy reading, crafting, and spending time with friends and family (including my tuxedo cat, Winston).

Your kindergartener is in store for many meaningful and challenging experiences this school year. I would like you to know that I have high expectations for each student. I want to nurture each student’s love of learning. I will strive to provide a positive and safe environment that is conducive to learning.

I feel strongly that in order for the school year to be successful, it is necessary for the child, teacher, and parent(s)/guardian(s) to work closely together throughout the school year. Please remember that your thoughts, concerns, and questions are always important to me. During the day, feel free to call me at school (765-772-4780, ext. 2483) if needed. If I am unavailable, I will do my best to return your call in a timely manner. For those of you who use e-mail, I check my e-mail several times throughout the day; therefore, this would be the quickest and most efficient way to contact me. Please add me to your address book (kdeno@lsc.k12.in.us).

I am excited to help your child grow as a learner, and I cannot wait to see what exciting experiences this year holds for us!
