ELearning Assignments for May 4th-May 8th

Do these every day of ELearning!

Read 20 minutes a day.

Do at least 20 minutes of Dream Box a day.

3rd Graders do at least 10 minutes of Reading Eggs per day.

You will need your iPads, paper and a pencil to do your assignments.

May 4th – May the Fourth be with you! (Star Wars Day)

3rd and 4th Grade Reading

  1. Go to the assignments on the Kids A-Z app on your iPads.
  2. 3rd grade: Read and take the quiz for My Day.
  3. 4th grade: Read and take the quiz for Safe Biking with Dad.
  4. Please do NOT help your child with the quiz today. I am using the score for data for progress monitoring for their IEP reading goal. That is why they cannot listen to the story today, as I need to see what they can read and understand independently. ThanksJ

 

3rd and 4th Grade Writing

This week students will be working on a writing prompt. I will be using this assignment for data for progress monitoring for their IEP writing goal. Please have students work as independently as possible, and have them take their time. You may read them the words on the writing prompt to help them. They have all week to complete the prompt.

  1. Go to the Showbie assignment: May 4th Writing Prompt.
  2. Click on the shared item: May 4th writing prompt. There are 8 different creatures to choose from. Choose 1 to write about.
  3. Write on a separate sheet of paper. Do NOT try to write on the worksheet on Showbie.
  4. 3rd grade: Write a paragraph about the creature: write a topic sentence and 3 detail sentences.
  5. 4th grade: Write a paragraph about the creature: write a topic sentence, 3 detail sentences and a conclusion sentence.
  6. Type your paragraph in the Pages app.
  7. Edit your work: Begin each sentence with a capital letter and end each sentence with a period. Capitalize names. Check your spelling. Check to make sure that your subject and verb agree (Examples: The boy rides. The boys ride.)
  8. Take a screen shot of your work. (Hold the Sleep/Wake (on/off) button on the top of your iPad and quickly click the Home button at the bottom of the screen.)
  9. Turn that photo in on Showbie under the assignment: May 4th writing prompt.

3rd and 4th Grade Spelling

  1. Write these words two times each: animal, burrow, tunnel, builder, cell, entrance, prey, underground, den, protection
  2. Take a photo of your finished work on your iPads.
  3. Turn that photo in on Showbie under the assignment: Spelling May 4.
